Every two years we carve out time to come together at our political conference to learn how we can continue building our power to win better contracts and improve working conditions for AFSCME workers. Our member-driven political process is critical to ensure our voices are heard by the politicians making decisions that affect our day-to-day lives, and this conference brings together members from across the state to share and learn from one another.
Join us for a 3 day weekend from October 17th-19th in Hood River, Oregon at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn where you can expect to get the tools and information to help advocate for policies and elect member-endorsed candidates who support our issues.
This conference is packed with important insights from the 2025 legislative session and a preview of what’s to come in 2026! You can also expect to receive trainings on how to engage your locals to advocate politically for better wages, hours, working conditions, and turn issues in our workplaces into policy. We’ll also have training on how to run for office, because what better way to advance pro-worker policies than electing actual workers to office.
Register here and share this exciting opportunity with members at your local! We look forward to seeing you in Hood River this fall.
This event is travel eligible, which means Oregon AFSCME will cover hotel and mileage costs of one delegate from each local. After the first delegate, each local is responsible for covering the cost of the rest of the attendees and their mileage. We can’t wait to see you there!
In Solidarity,
